Who’s ready for some #MACtion? Penn State has announced the addition of Ohio University to the 2022 football schedule. The Nittany Lions will face off against the Bobcats on Sept. 10 in week two of the 2022 season.
It will be an interesting start to the season, as Penn State begins with an in-conference road trip to Purdue in week one. Following the Ohio game in week two, Penn State hits the road again in week three for a showdown at Auburn. Week four brings another MAC opponent, Central Michigan, to Beaver Stadium before Ohio State travels to Happy Valley in week five. That game is then followed by a trip to Ann Arbor to face Michigan in week six. So let’s just say the first half of the 2022 schedule will be far from easy.
Penn State holds a 5-1 all-time advantage against Ohio. However, the Bobcats were victorious in the last contest between the two programs, handing Bill O’Brien a loss in his first game as head coach in the 2012 season opener.
Ohio is coming off a 9-4 season, that ended with a 27-0 beatdown of San Diego State in the Frisco Bowl.
