After falling 27-24 to Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl, the Penn State Nittany Lions fell four spots in the final AP Poll to No.17.
By being ranked in the final AP Poll, it marks the first time since 1997-1999 that the Nittany Lions have finished the season ranked in three consecutive seasons.
The Big Ten as a whole had five teams ranked in the final poll, joining the Lions is No.3 Ohio State, No.14 Michigan, No.21 Northwestern, and No.25 Iowa. The only other team from the conference to receive votes was Wisconsin, with two.
Penn State is slated to play three of those teams next year; at Iowa (Oct. 13), vs Michigan (Oct. 19), and at Ohio State (Nov. 23).
The Nittany Lions are expected to stay in the top-25 and more so the top-20 entering next season but we’ll have to wait until August to find out.
