Sometimes, it’s not your season. That’s what I’ve decided for myself this time around. Being severely under .500 picks wise, I’m just treading water here and hoping for a miracle in the next couple of weeks. Let’s see how we make out.
- PSUSteelerFan | 9,008.10
- C.McKean | 7,262.98
- DillingerFour | 4,201.99
- Gerry Dincher | 4,126.79
- Matt Murdock | 3,907.07
Yep, this is indeed the time of volatility, where a single wrong pick can shake the standings completely. moyepleasehaveanother is off the top 5 completely, and PSUSteelerFan now has nearly a 2000-dollar lead on No. 2, who has a 3000-dollar lead on No. 3. Let’s see how this looks in a week!
Rutgers +250 vs Liberty - How low have the Scarlet Knights fallen that they’re a touchdown underdogs to a team that just became FBS two seasons ago (and is playing its first full season as an FBS team this season)? That’s all well and good, but here’s the caveat: Rutgers has actually scored points, competed even, against non-conference teams this season. On the other hand, the two teams Liberty has played that have any semblance of a pulse, they’ve not only lost to, but they’ve lost to by multiple scores. Go ahead, look at their schedule. Look at who they’ve beaten. This line is more a testament to how far Rutgers has fallen than how good Liberty actually is. $200
Illinois +9.5 @ Purdue - These are two teams that have found some life in the last two games. On the one hand, you have Purdue, who blew out Maryland two weeks ago, then played toe-to-toe with Iowa last week. On the other, you have Illinois, who played toe-to-toe with Michigan two weeks ago, then beat No. 6 Wisconsin last week. Give me the team that competed against the top of the league. $300
Appalachian State -27.5 @ South Alabama - The Mountaineers are once again the class of the Sun Belt, and they’re just marching down the road of a potential New Year’s Six bid if both Cincinnati and SMU lose a game moving forward. So far, their smallest margin of victory against a Sun Belt team has been 10 points, against Troy. Expect a bloodbath. $100
Last Week: 1-2
Dearest reader, I have a question for you. A few weeks ago, the topic was brought up in the comments about how it was cool that I would release this on Saturday before the games, because it gives a sense of excitement about racing the clock to get your picks in. Also, it’s a good thing to have this post be released at a consistent time. Thus, I’m experimenting with releasing on Saturdays and Thursdays. That’s where you come in. What do you prefer?
