NCAA Football: Illinois at Purdue Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

This week was kinder to me, thanks to Vegas devaluing Rutgers and Illinois based on history. Appalachian State beat South Alabama by exactly 27 points, which is half a point shy of what the line was. Whenever you think Vegas doesn’t know what they’re doing, look to this game as your answer.

Picks

Illinois -20.5 vs Rutgers - The Fighting Illini have found themselves. And, while Rutgers has actually scored in its past two games (they even won the last one), I don’t see them stopping the Lovie train. Give me the points. $200

Indiana -10.5 vs Northwestern - If you paid attention to Pat Fitzgerald’s latest press conference, you know that’s a defeated man. Breaks my heart.* Meanwhile, if you saw Tom Allen’s speech and emotion when talking to Rick Pizzo on Saturday, you know Indiana’s about to run the train on the Wildcats. $200

SMU/Memphis OVER 71.5 - Neither defense is spectacularly great, and both offenses can be potent. This is a recipe for POINTS! $100

UCLA -6.5 vs Colorado - Something tells me that the Chip Kelly train is about to get off the station at UCLA, and after that blowout of good-but-not-great Arizona State, another home blowout of decent-but-not-good Colorado is in the cards. $100
