Big Ten Preview - Week 13

Both division races will come down to the wire

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

There are only two weeks left in the 2019 season (crazy, right?) and both divisions are still up for grabs. Who will stake their claim and head to Indianapolis? Let’s see what week 13 brings us! I’ll be making weekly picks straight up, so read on, make your own picks, and see if you know better than me!

#10 Minnesota (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten) at Northwestern (2-8, 0-7)

Evanston, IL

Saturday, November 23rd, 12:00 PM

Line: MINN -13.5

The Gophers lost a game to Iowa, but ultimately still control their destiny. Win out and they’re in the conference championship game, and perhaps the playoffs.

Minnesota 35, Northwestern 7

Illinois (6-4, 4-3) at #17 Iowa (7-3, 4-3)

Iowa City, IA

Saturday, November 23rd, 12:00 PM

Line: IOWA -15.5

Iowa cannot control its destiny, and had better not look past a feisty Illinois squad either. I’ll take the Hawkeyes at home, but don’t be surprised if an upset is on the menu either.

Iowa 24, Illinois 17

Michigan State (4-6, 2-5) at Rutgers (2-8, 0-7)

Piscataway, NJ

Saturday, November 23rd, 12:00 PM

Line: MSU -20.5

I think Michigan State will win this game, but I honestly am not 100% on that. It’s not because Rutgers is any good, but because the Spartans have completely mailed in the season. I guess they could still make it to a bowl?

Michigan State 21, Rutgers 13

#13 Michigan (8-2, 5-2) at Indiana (7-3, 4-3)

Evanston, IN

Saturday, November 23rd, 3:30 PM

Line: MICH -9.5

This is the game I’m most interested in. Michigan is almost certainly looking at OSU next week, but unlike perhaps some other years, they really shouldn’t look past Indiana. The Hoosiers gave Penn State everything they could on the road, and so should be a tough out at home. I’ll take Michigan in a close win, but 9Windiana is still on the table.

Michigan 27, Indiana 24

Nebraska (4-6, 2-5) at Maryland (3-7, 1-6)

College Park, MD

Saturday, November 23rd, 3:30 PM

Line: NEB -5

Well this is going to be an ugly game. Unlike Maryland, Nebraska can still make a bowl game, so I imagine Big Red is going to do its best to get the win. But you can safely count me in the group of people that will NOT be watching.

Nebraska 31, Maryland 21

Purdue (4-6, 3-4) at #12 Wisconsin (8-2, 5-2)

Madison, WI

Saturday, November 23rd, f:00 PM

Line: WIS -25

This line seems a bit high to me. Sure, Wisconsin is playing for a berth in the B1G CCG, but the Boilermakers have been pretty good themselves the last month or so. Wisconsin gets the dub, but not by 3+ TDs.

Wisconsin 35, Purdue28

Bye Week

None

Yay a full slate of Big Ten football!

I really thought Minnesota had it in them to take down Iowa at Iowa, but I guess the Kinnick Voodoo had to have a victim this season. Not doing too bad overall though!

Week 12: 4-1

Season: 64-11

So, who ya got in week 13?
