Penn State controls its own destiny, like much of the top teams left; if they win out, they’ll get in. This week is the next big test for PSU, who travels to Minneapolis to face Minnesota (17th in the rankings). After that, they’ll face a surprising Indiana squad who found themselves on the outside of the first rankings; then the Lions will travel to Columbus to face the Ohio State Buckeyes, ranked first, in a game much of the college football world has had circled for a few weeks.
In addition to PSU’s future opponents, former foes Iowa (#18) and Michigan (#14) also appear in the rankings this first go-around. Rounding out the Big Ten’s entrants are Wisconsin, at #13.
