Oh, Hello: Three-Star QB Micah Bowens II Commits to Penn State

Penn State found its quarterback for the 2020 class.

THE SKINNY

Hometown/High School: Las Vegas, NV (Bishop Gorman)
Height/Weight: 6-foot-1, 195 pounds
Ranking: ★★★ (0.8527 247Sports Composite)

HIGHLIGHTS

THE TALE

Pretty straightforward tale here. Bowens II visited Penn State with a contingent of Las Vegas prospects on February 1, left Happy Valley that day with an offer, and now a few weeks later, has decided to make the call for the Nittany Lions. Quarterback recruiting is beautiful, folks.

OUTLOOK

Despite Penn State taking two quarterbacks in the 2019 class, taking a quarterback in 2020 was always a definite. With how prevalent transfers are at the position, you can’t afford to take a year off when it comes to QB.

Bowens II is a good-looking prospect though. At 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, he isn’t the biggest kid in the world, but he’s been extremely productive at Bishop Gorman (44 TDs to just 8 interceptions), is athletic and mobile, and has a good arm. With how weak quarterback is in the region in 2020, being able to pull someone like Bowens II from Nevada is a nice get for Penn State.
