The Story
Achumba appeared headed for Maryland early on in the cycle, especially after the Terps hired former DeMatha Catholic head coach Elijah Brooks as an assistant.
But Achumba continued to make visits, including an unofficial trip to Happy Valley just last week before making the call on twitter early Tuesday morning.

Outlook
Achumba is the sixth commit of the 2020 class for Penn State, joining fellow lineman Grant Toutant, quarterback Micah Bowers, cornerback Joshua Moten and linebackers Derek Wingo and Curtis Jacobs.
Toutant figures to be a tackle at the college level, while Achumba will almost certainly stay inside at guard.
He’s got a powerful frame, similar to that of C.J. Thorpe and Mike Miranda who figure to push for starting spots this year in the interior.
Achumba has shown to be an impressive pass blocker on tape, but his pass sets will need works, as is typically the case with young interior linemen.
The Nittany Lions are also still pushing for 2020 DeMatha products MarShawn Lloyd and Coziah Izzard
