With the Easter holiday, it was lighter weekend on the recruiting front for the Nittany Lions.

PENN STATE OFFERS IN-STATE DEFENSIVE LINEMAN

On Friday, the Nittany Lions extended just their fifth in-state offer for 2020 when they offered Westinghouse defensive lineman Dayon Hayes.

Despite being in the 235-250 area, Hayes should be future defensive tackle. He’s already visited campus multiple times so this offer should put the Nittany Lions among his leaders.

Right now Penn State owns just one defensive line commit in the form of defensive tackle Cole Brevard. This leaves the defensive line board pretty wide open at the moment. James Franklin and company would love to add to the defensive line class sooner rather than later, and could lead to dominoes similar to the ones we have witnessed in recent weeks with the offensive line when another defensive lineman hops on board.

BRYAN BRESEE SET TO ANNOUNCE

On Tuesday, the nation’s top prospect - defensive end Bryan Bresee - will announce his college decision.

At 2:45, Bresee will choose between Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State. It appears that the Nittany Lions will be nothing more than a hat on the table for the defensive lineman.

At one point in his recruitment it appeared that Penn State may have been his leader. However, in recent months he has started to trend towards Clemson as his 247 Sports Crystal Ball reflects. While the Nittany Lions once held multiple crystal ball predictions for Bresee, he has not visited campus since January and him choosing the Nittany Lions would be a stunner. Sad face.
