Entering the 2019 season opportunity is knocking at the wide receiver position in Happy Valley. Outside of KJ Hamler and Jahan Dotson, the wide receiver depth chart is wide open. While redshirt freshmen Justin Shorter and Daniel George appear ready to step up, redshirt sophomore Cam Sullivan-Brown should not be forgotten, either.
Last season, Sullivan-Brown played in all 13 games. This included making his first career start against Rutgers. The Maryland native would go on to finish the season with 4 receptions for 49 yards. He was also a vital part of Penn State’s special teams units last season. Despite the amount of playing time he racked up in 2018, he has become a bit of an overlooked man in the Penn State wide receiver room.
Earlier in the offseason, Sullivan-Brown entered the transfer portal. Thankfully, he decided to remain a Nittany Lion. Between graduation and transfers the Nittany Lions lost four wide receivers this offseason, which has created an opportunity for Sullivan-Brown. He should also once again be a key special teams cog for Joe Lorig’s group this fall.
We’re only 81 days away from the start of the 2019 Penn State Football season!
