Two seasons ago the Sabres and Penguins squared off inside the Pegula Ice Arena. On September 16 at 7 p.m. the teams will hit the ice once again. It was announced today that Terry and Kim Pegula’s Buffalo Sabres will make their third appearance in the building that the pair made possible with their generous donation.

The Sabres lost to the Minnesota Wild in University Park in 2016 before beating the Penguins the next season. Both games were close. The first game was decided in the final 4.6 seconds, the other went to overtime.

Ticket and parking pricing will be announced at a later date.

The game will take place three weeks prior to the start of the Penn State hockey season, when the Lions host the University of Ottawa on October 6. The regular season begins the following week at The Peg.
