We’re breezing through the 70’s portion of the countdown with some more O-line action! Today with 71 days to go until kickoff, we honor none other than Will Fries.
With 20 career starts under his belt and having seen game action in each of the contests of the 2017 and 2018 season, Fries returns as the second-most experienced starter on the offensive line. Whether he ends up at left tackle or right tackle remains to be seen, as last year he started four games at the left spot, and seven at the right.
Regardless, Fries will be counted upon to provide that experienced steady hand guiding some of the lesser experienced starters who will take over for the likes of Ryan Bates and Connor McGovern. So long as he stays healthy, I wouldn’t bet against him doing so.
