Another opponent on the 2019-2020 basketball schedule was revealed earlier today, when the Big Ten-ACC Challenge games were announced. The Nittany Lions will play host to Wake Forest on Wednesday, December 4th, which will the final night of a three-night extravaganza of Big Ten-ACC action. Other notable games include rematches of epic NCAA Tournament games from this past March, with Virginia going to Purdue, and Michigan State hosting Duke.
The Demon Deacons give PSU yet another power conference opponent on what is shaping up to be a non-conference slate ripe with NCAA Tournament resume-boosting opportunities with a visit to Georgetown for the Gavitt Games, matchups between two out of three against Oklahoma State, Syracuse, and Ole MIss in the Preseason NIT, as well as home dates with Yale, Bucknell, and Alabama.
With four slots remaining to be filled out of conference, look for the majority of them to be filled with low to mid-major opponents, a couple of which would resemble “buy games” as one Mr. Jon Rothstein would describe.
