There will be no one wearing #61 for the Nittany Lions this fall, which gives us an opportunity to look back at one of the best Penn State offensive linemen of the recent era. Stefen Wisniewski worked his way into a starting role as a true freshman in 2007, and never looked back. The next season he would help Penn State win the Big Ten championship and a spot in the Rose Bowl. The following year, he was a stalwart on the offensive line as the Nittany Lions managed an 11-win season and a thrilling Citrus Bowl victory against LSU.
Wisniewski would hear his name called in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, which began a four-year stint with the Raiders. He would leave for a season in Jacksonville before signing with Philadelphia, where he would earn a Super Bowl LII ring as the Eagles took down the Patriots. Wisniewski recently re-signed with the Eagles, where he will look to take them back to the promised land in 2019.
We’re just 61 days away from the start of the 2019 Penn State Football season!
