Redshirt freshman Charlie Katshir has not been in the news much since arriving to Penn State as a part of the class of 2018, but that may change in this upcoming season.
The 6’3’’ product from the Harrisburg area signed with the Nittany Lions at a reported 198 pounds, and weighed in at 214 during 2018. At a media day in May 2019, Katshir was listed at 229 pounds - one of the biggest weight-gainers on the team. It certainly appears as though his 2018 redshirt season paid dividends in the weight room.
Katshir played wide receiver and safety in high school, so his ball skills add another dimension to the extremely talented linebacker room alongside Micah Parsons, Brandon Smith, Lance Dixon, and Jesse Luketa. Time will tell whether Katshir will earn significant playing time, but the time spent with Dwight Galt should get Penn State fans excited for his potential in the future.
