We’ve told you before about Alyssa Naeher.
The Penn State grad is the starting goalkeeper for the United States Women’s National Team. She joins reserve right back Ali Krieger as Penn Staters on the team and, on Tuesday, Naeher made her mark on US Soccer history.

With the United States leading 2-1 in the 84th minute in its match with England, Naeher made huge save on a penalty kick by Lionesses captain Steph Houghton.
The US went on to win the match 2-1 and will face the winner of Wednesday’s semifinal between The Netherlands and Sweden in Sunday’s final.
UPDATE: Penn State women’s soccer will host a free watch party for Sunday’s final starting at 11 a.m. in Panzer Stadium.
