With just 59 days remaining until Penn State kicks their season off against Idaho, we look at Penn State walk-on offensive lineman Kaleb Konigus.
Konigus, a redshirt freshman is a Pennsylvania native who attended Lake-Lehman High School which is the same high school that produced recent Penn State offensive lineman and NFL second round pick Connor McGovern as well as fellow walk-on running back Nick Eury.
Konigus was a two-sport athlete at Lake-Lehman, playing offensive and defensive line for the Knights while also wrestling for his alma mater. A distinguished competitor on both the field and the mat, Konigus was one of the best players in the Wyoming Valley Conference, earning multiple All-WVC team selections. When it came to wrestling, he was a star on the Lake-Lehman wrestling team and was an All-State wrestler as well.
Konigus enters this season looking to find his way onto depth chart at center. Like many walk-ons, what he does if often thankless in the grand scheme of things in college football but walk-ons are also a huge reason for many programs success, providing starters with the best competition on the practice field on a week-to-week basis.
