Oh, Hello: 2021 Florida TE Nick Elksnis Commits to Penn State

New, comments

No. 2 for 2021 is in.

Height/Weight: 6-foot-5, 220 pounds
Hometown/High School: Jacksonville, FL (Episcopal)
Ranking: ★★★
Notable Offers: Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Virginia Tech

Well, this isn’t much of a long one. Penn State offered Elksnis back in April, but the Florida tight end didn’t make it up to Happy Valley until this past weekend. There, he camped for the staff, and remarked to Lions247 that he loved the cows on campus. The cows must have been enough, as Elksnis made the call for the Nittany Lions just a few days later.

Elksnis becomes the second member of the 2021 recruiting class, joining Dont’e Thornton to give Penn State two very impressive pass-catchers.

2021 is still so far out it’s kind of meaningless to talk about Elksnis’ impact, but we can say this much — with Tyler Bowen as tight ends coach, the position will always be stocked with talent. Even if Pat Freiermuth leaves after his junior season, the tight end room will still be Zack Kuntz, Brenton Strange, Tyler Warren, Nick Elksnis, and hopefully Theo Johnson — which goes without saying, but is very good.
