We’re down to 55 days until the start of the 2019 Penn State Football season, giving us reason to celebrate one of the Wild Dogs who looks to play a major part in what should be a stingy, hard-nosed Nittany Lions defense.
Antonio Shelton is heading into his redshirt junior season after making his first career start in the Citrus Bowl. The Westerville, Ohio native played in all 13 games in 2018 as part of Sean Spencer’s rotation at defensive tackle. He finished the season with 14 tackles, 1.5 TFLs and a sack- solid numbers for a reserve that should see a major jump this fall.
Shelton is a journalism major who has received Academic All-Big Ten honors. He was also born in Columbus, Ohio, where he will return to bring pain to his hometown on November 23.
Only 55 days until Penn State kicks off the 2019 football season, folks.
