We’re 10 days out from Big Ten Media Days in Chicago and we now know which Penn State athletes will be joining James Franklin.
Seniors Blake Gillkin, John Reid and Cam Brown will all represent the Nittany Lions for the first time at media days on July 18-19.

While the Nittany Lions have yet to name captains for the 2019 season, it stands to reason that Gillkin and Reid are two of the favorites to be named the special teams and defensive captains respectively, with Brown being a likely choice should James Franklin opt for more than three.
Gillikin and Brown have been mainstays for Penn State over the last three seasons, while Reid returned from an ACL tear last season to regain his starting spot at cornerback and become one of the team’s standout players yet again by the end of the year.
Gillkin, one of the nation’s best punters, has already been named to the preseason watch list for the Ray Guy Award given annual to the top punter in the country.
