It is game week! I repeat, it is game week! At 3:30 on Saturday afternoon the Penn State Nittany Lions will host the Idaho Vandals and their 2019 season will be underway!

True junior Tariq Castro-Fields will be one of the leaders of the Nittany Lion secondary this fall. TCF has played in all 26 games that Penn State has played since he has been on campus. Technically, TCF only made three starts last season. However, with how often Penn State uses nickel packages he got the reps of a starter each week.

As a sophomore last fall TCF recorded 32 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, his first career sack, and 7 pass break ups. The Maryland native possesses the tools needed to be an all-conference level performer this fall. With a strong performance this season TCF could enter the NFL Draft in April. So, he could be playing for a pay day this fall.

Penn State’s defense is expected to be one of the best in the FBS this fall. A secondary led by TCF, John Reid, and Garrett Taylor is a big reason why. Expectations will be high for TCF and company this fall.

5 days to go!
