It’s a short story between Penn State and Keyvone Lee. The Nittany Lions extended an offer to Lee on April 14, and shortly thereafter, Lee made on official visit to Happy Valley on April 26. That the only visit he took to State College, but in the end it proved to be enough. Lee made visits to Florida and Florida State after, but neither home-state school could overtake the Nittany Lions.
Lee is joining fellow Floridian Caziah Holmes as the second running back in the class, but the two are quite different, making for nice 1-2 duo for running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider.
Lee is a big running back at 6-foot-0, 223 pounds, but when you watch his tape, he’s doing much more than just overpowering defenders. He shows an incredible blend of vision and patience, and his footwork and change of direction for a kid of his size is quite astounding. He’s never going to run away from cornerbacks, but other than top-end speed, there is a whole lot to like out of Lee. He’s a pretty complete running back, and one that should push for playing time very early on in his career.
