If you were to build a prototypical defensive end, you’d be hard pressed to find a better base than Jayson Oweh.
Oweh currently stands 6-foot-5, and checks in at 256 pounds. He’s got the height and he’s got the reach, and he’s got some absurd testing numbers: a 4.33 40-yard dash, a 36.5 inch vertical jump, and a 10-foot-7 broad jump.
Oh, and that’s to go along with a max clean of 365 pounds, and a max bench of 380 pounds.
In other words - the kid is a freak. In fact, he’s so much of a freak, that one Bruce Feldman named him the #6 athletic freak in all of college football - one spot ahead of Micah Parsons.
After redshirting in 2018, Oweh is expected to be a large part of the defensive end rotation, which will include Yetur Gross-Matos, Shane Simmons, and Shaka Toney.
Yeah, this defensive line is gonna be good.
