Penn State Football Commits In Action: Week 3

Eight Penn State commits had the weekend off, but there were still plenty of future Nittany Lions in action over the weekend

Leading the way for the Fort Bend Travis (TX) Tigers to a 42-13 victory over Foster High School was future Penn State wide receiver Parker Washington. In the blowout victory Washington hauled in 7 passes for 148 yards and a pair of scores. Washington’s night included an impressive one handed touchdown snare.

Quarterback Micah Bowens and the Bishop Gorman Gales out of Las Vegas defeated Servite High School out of Anaheim, California, 42-21 to improve to 2-1 on the season. Bowens had another strong game completing 13 of 19 pass attempts for 231 yards and 3 touchdowns. Bowens also added 40 yards on the ground.

In the state of Indiana defensive tackle Cole Brevard and the Carmel Greyhounds earned a hard fought 20-14 victory of their rivals the Center Grove Trojans. Brevard finished the game with 6 tackles, bringing his season total through three games 12.

The Paramus Catholic Paladins steamrolled fellow New Jersey Catholic School Pope John XXIII 52-14 to remain unbeaten. The blocking of Devin Willock aided the Paladin rack up 564 yards of total offense, 249 of which came on the ground, in addition to their 52 points. In the nation’s capital, offensive tackle Olu Fashanu and the Gonzaga Eagles remained undefeated following a 35-21 victory over Don Bosco Prep out of New Jersey.

Linebacker Tyler Elsdon and North Schuylkill were defeated by Wyomissing 31-14. Fellow linebacker commit Curtis Jacobs and the McDonogh (MD) Eahles played host to Berks County Catholic. You can check out the highlights of each linebacker from their respective games below.

On the JUCO circuit, wide receiver Norval Black and safety Ji’Ayir Brown helped to lead the Lackawanna Falcons to a 55-0 victory in their season opener. Black caught a pair of passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. Brown recorded a tackle while helping the defense pitch a shutout.

2021 tight end commit Nick Elksnis and the Episcopal School of Jacksonville Eagles improved to 3-0 on the season with a 51-21 victory. Elksnis caught 4 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. He also had 3 tackles including a TFL.
