Penn State dips slightly in the polls

Perhaps due to a less-than-impressive win against Pitt, the Nittany Lions slide two spots in the rankings.

Penn State still has yet to put together a full 60 minutes of football, and their efforts saw them tied at No. 13 in the AP poll.

Four other Big Ten teams are in the rankings this week, led by Ohio State and Michigan at No. 6 and 11, respectively. Other conference teams in the poll include the other No. 13 Wisconsin and No. 18 Iowa. Michigan State and Maryland both fell after their upset losses; The Spartans’ defeat came in controversial fashion against Arizona State, while The Terps’ less-controversial loss was on the road at Temple.

Penn State dropped one spot to No. 12 in the Coaches Poll, after moving up three spots last week. Ohio State (No. 6), Michigan (No. 10), Wisconsin (No. 14), and Iowa (No. 18) are the other conference teams in the coaches’ poll.

Penn State has a bye week before facing Maryland Friday, September 27.
