Former Foes Week 4: Kicking Our Feet up on The Table During The Bye Week

New, 9 comments

Our first Former Foes post for 2019 is up!

With the 2019 season a quarter of the way done and Penn State sitting at 3-0 with a bye week ahead, we figured now was the best time to bring back one of our favorite segments. What have our old pals Idaho and Buffalo been up to since we last saw them? How are Joe Moorhead’s men faring down in Starkville, thus far? Let’s find out!

Former Foes

Idaho Vandals

Last Seen: After serving as a $1.5 million sacrificial lamb in Beaver Stadium, the Vandals returned home to Moscow and knocked off fellow FCS foe Central Washington, 41-31. They followed that up by jumping out to a 10-0 lead at Wyoming, but the Cowboys would respond with 21 unanswered points, ultimately prevailing 21-16.

Up Next: A tough test at home this Saturday against FCS powerhouse Eastern Washington.

2019 Record: 1-2

Buffalo Bulls

Last Seen: After giving Penn State a difficult time on the road for two-and-a-half quarters, Buffalo hit the road at Liberty University brimming with confidence that they could knock off the winless Flames. Unfortunately for Da Bulls, Hugh Freeze’s boys had other plans, sticking it to Buffalo, 35-17.

Up Next: A home date this Saturday against Temple

2019 Record: 1-2

Pitt Panthers

Last Seen: Leaving it all on the field but coming up short in their last Super Bowl for the foreseeable future against Penn State. Meanwhile, Pat Narduzzi continues to endear himself to the Pitt fan base.

Up Next: Home against UCF this Saturday

2019 Record: 1-2

Former Bros

Mississippi State Bulldogs

Last Seen: Getting beat at home by Kansas State in a game that saw Tommy Stevens get benched after struggling in favor of true freshman Garrett Shrader, who became a viral sensation for his helicopter impression.

Up Next: Home against Kentucky this Saturday

2019 Record: 2-1
