JAMES FRANKLIN CHECKS IN ON TOP DB TARGET
On Friday, James Franklin popped up in Virginia. He was at Episcopal High School in Alexandria to check in on safety target Elijah Gaines.

Last weekend Gaines officially visited Penn State for their 17-10 victory over Pitt. This was Gaines first official visit, and it appeared to set the bar high. Exiting the visit, the Nittany Lions may have become the team to beat in his recruitment.
Penn State wants to add another safety to their 2020 class, and Gaines is the player they are targeting. He is not only one of their top remaining defensive targets, but one of their top remaining targets regardless of position.
LANDON TENGWALL TOP 3
Last Tuesday, 2021 offensive tackle Landon Tengwall released his top 3 schools. These schools are Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State.

Tengwall is one of the best offensive linemen in the 2021 cycle and has all the tools needed to be a dominant left tackle at the collegiate level. The Nittany Lions have been one of the leaders for Tengwall throughout his recruitment and nothing has changed on that front. In fact, last week 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steven Wiltfong put in a crystal ball prediction for Tengwall to the Nittany Lions.
RUNNING BACK TEAMMATES OFFERED
Coach Franklin and company extended a pair of scholarship offers to running backs at IMG Academy in Florida. These two runners are 2021 back Lovasea Carroll and 2022 back Kaytron Allen.

In recent years Penn State has recruited running back as well as any program in the country. Saquon Barkley, Miles Sanders, Journey Brown, Ricky Slade, Noah Cain, and Devyn Ford is an incredible running back haul over a five year stretch. Plus, there are four-star 2020 Sunshine State commits Caziah Holmes and Keyvone Lee.
During this stretch the Nittany Lions have had success both in the state of Florida, as well as at IMG Academy which is where Cain finished his high school career. With Penn State’s recruiting success at running back, combined with the Saquon Barkley Effect and JaJuan Seider Effect it is tough to ever count them out in the recruitment of a running back.
