Week four was a rather straightforward affair, as there weren’t very many marquee games and there were no upsets. Let’s see what we’ve got for week five! I’ll be making weekly picks straight up, so read on, make your own picks, and see if you know better than me!

Northwestern (1-2, 0-1 Big Ten) at #8 Wisconsin (3-0, 1-0)

Madison, WI

Saturday, September 28th, 12:00 PM

Line: WIS -24

Wisconsin made its early season statement in demolishing Michigan, while Northwestern got blown out by MSU. Hard to see a game in which Northwestern is overly competitive.

Wisconsin 27, Northwestern 14

Middle Tennessee (1-2) at #14 Iowa (3-0)

Iowa City, IA

Saturday, September 28th, 12:00 PM

Line: IOWA -23.5

Not much to write about here, the Hawkeyes roll.

Iowa 42, Middle Tennessee 10

Rutgers (1-2, 0-1) at #20 Michigan (2-1, 0-1)

Ann Arbor, MI

Saturday, September 28th, 12:00 PM

Line: MICH -27.5

Know what can help make a team feel better about a blowout loss? Playing Rutgers. The Wolverines get their legs back under them.

Michigan 42, Rutgers 14

Indiana (3-1, 0-1) at #25 Michigan State (3-1, 0-1)

East Lansing, MI

Saturday, September 28th, 3:30 PM

Line: MSU -14

This is perhaps the most sneaky-good game of the week. Indiana got routed by Ohio State (who can blame them), but have otherwise looked like a very solid team. The Michigan State defense will most likely shut down the Hoosiers, but this one could be a bit of a barn burner.

Michigan State 24, Indiana 20

Minnesota (3-0, 0-0) at Purdue (1-2, 0-0)

West Lafayette, IN

Saturday, September 28th, 3:30 PM

If this game were at Minnesota, I’d say the Gophers would be favored, but at Purdue and I can understand the current betting line. My gut says Minnesota here, but the Boilermakers could make this one interesting.

Minnesota 21, Purdue 17

#5 Ohio State (4-0, 1-0) at Nebraska (3-1, 1-0)

Lincoln, NE

Saturday, September 28th, 7:30 PM

Line: OSU -17.5

Nebraska did not look good in sneaking by Illinois, while OSU is on the warpath. This does not bode well for the Cornhuskers.

Ohio State 42, Nebraska 24

Bye Week

Illinois (2-2, 0-1)

The Illini had Nebraska on the ropes, only to let the win slip away. A good chance for Lovie to try to right the ship.

It was a pretty straightforward week 4, but undefeated on the week is undefeated! My season is still looking solid so far:

Week 4: 6-0

Season: 35-4

So, who ya got in week five?
