WEEKEND VISITOR TO CAMPUS
While unofficial and official visits are still not permitted right now, it has not stopped prospects from getting out and seeing campuses. Over the weekend, a familiar face was back on campus in Happy Valley. This face was 2021 offensive line commit Landon Tengwall.

The Maryland native is the highest rated member of Penn State’s 2021 recruiting class. He has been to campus more times than anyone could count during his recruitment, but this was his first trip to State College since before the COVID-19 pandemic began. Even in times like this it never hurts to get commits on campus.
TOP GROUPS
Four-star 2021 lineman Rayshaun Benny has released his top four. This group includes the Nittany Lions.

Benny could play on either the offensive or defensive line at the next level. The Michigan native has visited Happy Valley in the past, but the Nittany Lions appear to be playing catch up here. While the Nittany Lions have always been in the thick of this recruitment and are a finalist, it appears they will end up just a hat on the table.
In-state 2022 defensive end Keon Wylie has release a top 11 that includes the Nittany Lions.

The Imhotep Charter standout holds a Penn State offer, but it remains to be seen where he sits on the Nittany Lion recruiting board. The Nittany Lions will be looking to take a big defensive end class in 2022, this along with being an in-state talent could make Wylie a name Penn State fans will see pop up a lot in recruiting talk over the next calendar year.
NEW OFFERS
As was mentioned above, Penn State will be looking to sign a big defensive end class in 2022. Late last weekend, Florida native Keahnist Thompson was added to the board.

While the lack of visits have hurt Penn State with Florida recruiting in the 2021 cycle, ever since JaJuan Seider has arrived in Happy Valley the Nittany Lions have recruited Florida about as well as one could ever hope for. This offer was likely one to gauge Thompson’s interest in the Nittany Lions. If he has interest, he could pop up on campus for a visit whenever visits are permitted again.
On the 2023 recruiting trail, there was a noteworthy offer development. Uniontown super athlete Rodney Gallagher picked up a basketball offer from Penn State.

Gallagher already holds a football offer from the Nittany Lions, and is currently ranked by 247Sports as the 40th best player in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Gallagher also projects to be one of the top basketball recruits in the region for 2023. Between Coach Franklin and Coach Chambers, the Nittany Lions are all in with their pursuit of Gallagher.
