BSDegenerates: Week Seven

Welcome to your weekly degenerates meeting!

NCAA Football: Tennessee at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The final week of the 2020 college football season without Big Ten football is upon which may be a good thing because this weekend’s slate is a bit weak compared to some in the past. That being said, we’ll get right into the predictions today.

BYU (-3) at Houston: A showdown of Cougars

The Cougars are off to a 4-0 start on the season but are coming off a close win over the UTSA Roadrunners. It was the first time this season that quarterback Zach Wilson and the Cougars have looked vulnerable. Will Dana Holgorson and his Cougars upset BYU in their second game of the season after a comeback effort against Tulane last weekend. (By the time of posting this game already happened but let the records show the following predictions...)

Clay: BYU 34 - Houston 24
Marty: BYU 31 - Houston 27
Lando: Houston 31 - BYU 28
Dylan: BYU 38 - Houston 31
Jared: Houston 37, BYU 31
Eli: Houston 55 - BYU 49
Chris: BYU 28 - Houston 27

Auburn (-3) at South Carolina: Will the misery continue for Auburn?

After losing their biggest game of the season against the Georgia Bulldogs two weeks ago, the Auburn Tigers struggled last week mightily against the Arkansas Razorbacks. It could be argued the Razorbacks had the game stolen from them but that’s neither here nor there. With that, the Tigers will look to put in a better effort against the South Carolina Gamecocks who have played well this season.

Clay: Auburn 27 - South Carolina 20
Marty: Auburn 19 - South Carolina 14
Lando: Auburn 28 - South Carolina 21
Dylan: Auburn 27 - South Carolina 21
Jared: Auburn 31 - South Carolina 23
Eli: South Carolina 23 - Auburn 20
Chris: Auburn 24 - South Carolina 17

Kentucky at Tennessee (-6): Volunteers look for bounce back victory

Tennessee is coming off a quality effort against the Georgia Bulldogs last weekend, competing with the top-three Bulldogs for the first before falling apart offensively in the third quarter. Kentucky, on the other hand, is coming off a 24-2 victory Miss St.

Clay: Tennessee 27 - Kentucky 17
Marty: Tennessee 24 - Kentucky 17
Lando: Tennessee 28 - Kentucky 14
Dylan: Tennessee 34 - Kentucky 17
Jared: Tennessee 28 - Kentucky 21
Eli: Tennessee 27 - Kentucky 24
Chris: Tennessee 35 - Kentucky 27

Memphis at UCF (-2.5): This should be a fun one

Two of the Group of Five’s best quarterbacks will go up against each other in this one as the Dillion Gabriel led UCF Knights will look to hand Brady White’s Memphis Tigers their second loss of the 2020 season. Expect a ton of points in this game.

Clay: UCF 44 - Memphis 38
Marty: Memphis 45 - UCF 42
Lando: UCF 34 - Memphis 31
Dylan: UCF 42 - Memphis 35
Jared: Memphis 41 - UCF 36
Eli: UCF 49 - Memphis 45
Chris: Memphis 42 - UCF 36

Georgia at Alabama (-7): Will Alabama’s dominance against the SEC East continue?

The last time Alabama lost to an SEC opponent? 2010 to South Carolina. Since then, the Crimson Tide have dominated not just the SEC East but all of college football and in 2020 they’re once again looking like national title contenders. The Crimson Tide survived last week against Ole Miss, now they’ll have a even tougher test in the Georgia Bulldogs. Will Stetson Bennett and the Bulldogs offense be able to do enough to know the Crimson Tide off?

Clay: Bama 34 - UGA 28
Marty: Bama 31 - UGA 21
Lando: Bama 35 - UGA 28
Dylan: Bama 34 - UGA 23
Jared: Bama 35 - UGA 31
Eli: Bama 49 - UGA 28
Chris: Bama 42 - UGA 28
