HIGHLIGHTS

THE TALE

Penn State has been in on Ivey from the jump, offering the talented in-state product on Sept. 30 of 2019 and then hosting him for an unofficial visit not long thereafter. They led for his services throughout the recruitment, but the departure of Gerad Parker to West Virginia made things interesting.

Taylor Stubblefield was able to come in and form a good relationship with Ivey, however, and thanks in part to Ivey’s friendship with 2022 QB commit Beau Pribula, Penn State was able to secure his commitment.

OUTLOOK

Ivey is a lightning rod with the ball on his hands. Similar to current starting wideout Jahan Dotson, he lacks for elite size or length, but he’s got wiggle and is a big time play maker with the ball in his hands. Ivey has the speed to take the top off of opposing defenses, but is best when working in tight areas after the catch.

He’s shown to be elusive and hard to bring down even after contact, despite not being the strongest guy out there. Together with the already-committed Kaden Saunders, he gives PSU the beginning of a dynamic wideout class in 2022 with other names like Mehki Flowers of Steelton, Pa. still very much at play.
