According to the oddsmakers, Penn State is in good shape to win its first game of the 2020 season this Saturday. The Nittany Lions have opened as a 25-point favorite against Maryland ahead of the teams’ meeting in Beaver Stadium.
Maryland enters the contest at 1-1 after being walloped by Northwestern 43-3 in week three before bouncing back with a surprise victory against Minnesota. The Terps won the 45-44 thriller on Friday in part to a failed extra point attempt by the Gophers in the first overtime.
Penn State is the winner of five straight in the series against the Terps, with the last four contests being easily won 38-14 in 2016, 66-3 in 2017, 38-3 in 2018 and 59-0 in 2019. The most recent victory by Maryland was in 2014, when they got the best of the Nittany Lions 20-19 in the first meeting with both teams as members of the Big Ten Conference. Penn State owns a 40-2-1 advantage all-time in the series.
The game will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 7 and be televised on BTN.
