Oddsmakers See Tight Match-Up Between Penn State and Iowa

NCAA Football: Penn State at Iowa Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

While the results on the field have been much different between the two the last two weeks, the oddsmakers don’t see a clear favorite when Penn State faces Iowa on Saturday, with the opening line listed as a pick ‘em.

The Nittany Lions are coming off a 30-23 loss to Nebraska, helping to result in the first 0-4 start to the season since 2000. Iowa’s season also got off to a rocky start, suffering close defeats against Purdue and Northwestern to start 0-2. However, they seemed to turn a corner in week three, crushing Michigan State 49-7 before another strong performance with a 35-7 victory over Minnesota.

Penn State beat Iowa last season 17-12 under the lights of Kinnick Stadium. The Nittany Lions are on a six-game winning streak in the series dating back to 2011. Iowa will try to notch its first win against Penn State since 2010, when Rob Bolden was under center for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State and Iowa will kick off in Beaver Stadium at 3:30 ET Saturday on BTN.
