With the college basketball season as it currently stands just about two weeks away from starting, the Penn State men’s basketball program released their non conference schedule for the 2020-21 season.
The Nittany Lions will face five respectable programs in Drexel, Virginia Tech, VMI, VCU, and Seton Hall. Out of their five non-conference match-ups, the Nittany Lions will host four of those games; Drexel, VMI, VCU, and Seton Hall. The lone road game coming against Virginia Tech as part of the ACC/Big-10 Challenge on December 8. The first of those four home games is set for November 25 against Drexel at the Bryce Jordan-Center.
On November 28, Penn State welcomes VMI to Happy Valley before VCU and Seton Hall visit the Nittany Lions on December 2 and 6, respectively.
The toughest matchup for the Nittany Lions will certainly be their visit from the Seton Hall Pirates, who were one of the better teams in the county last season en route to a 21-9 overall record.
The Nittany Lions will look to use their short non-conference schedule to jump start their 2020-21 season as they look to follow up a strong 2019-20 season that saw them go 21-10 and likely bound for the NCAA Tournament. They will have to do it, however, under new leadership with Jim Ferry taking over after Pat Chambers’s resignation last month. They will also have to do it without star forward Lamar Stevens, who exhausted the last of his eligibility last season. He’ll look to make the jump to the professional ranks this upcoming season.
Your Nittany Lions are scheduled to open the 2020-21 season with 4️⃣ nonconference home games:
