Just Kidding Covid: Penn State vs Drexel Postponed

Penn State’s game against Drexel has been postponed due to positive Covid case.

NCAA Basketball: Penn State at Northwestern David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

Hold your horses everyone! The game against Drexel, scheduled for Wednesday at 1:00 PM Eastern, has been postponed due to “COVID-19 protocols,” the Penn State Basketball twitter announced.

Ben Jones of statecollege.com noted that the positive case is within the Penn State program, but it’s not a student athlete. As per Big Ten protocol, coaches and players are tested on a daily basis, and we don’t exactly know when the positive test came through, but the fact that the Nittany Lions still plan to play VMI on Saturday means the program is not as concerned by this particular test.

As per a make-up date, Penn State plays three times between December 13 and December 30, while Drexel’s last game before January is on the 19th. Perhaps the teams can work something out during that window? We’ll see.
