Three straight wins, three straight weeks of individual awards.’
That’s the situation for the Penn State football team who apparently was operating under the belief that the Big Ten was still delaying the start of the season until the weekend after Thanksgiving.
After leading a come from behind 39-24 victory over Michigan State, including an 81-yard punt return for a touchdown, Jahan Dotson was named the Big Ten Speicla Teams Player of the Week.
Dotson continued his breakout junior season with another outstanding performance at wideout, catching eight balls for 108 yards to bring his season totals to 46 receptions for 695 yards and six touchdowns, all of which lead the Nittany Lions.
It was his fourth-quarter punt return, however, that broke the game open and earned him the honors this week. The return touchdown was Penn State’s first since DeAndre Thompkins did so against Pitt in 2018.
Dotson and the Nittany Lions return to action on at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday as Illinois pays a visit to Beaver Stadium.
