All of the above rankings are taken directly from the NCAA except for strength of schedule, which is not ranked by the NCAA and instead taken from team rankings.

The Redzone TD% and Redzone TD% Defense are calculated by me and not ranked by the NCAA. Determining who has the advantage in these categories is strictly my arbitrary judgment.

Quick thoughts:

I did not expect that we’d play a team worse in the red zone than us this year, but then again, I didn’t expect to play Illinois. So there’s that.

and also...Penn State leads the Big Ten in offensive first downs? It helps when you’ve played all your games, but still, for a 3-5 team, that’s surprising (leading the conference in punt returns after Jahan Dotson’s 81-yarder last week is much less so).

One of the things that Illinois is very good at this year is ball-hawking - so hopefully Rock & CJF will keep it on the ground.
