Until next season, Penn State. The Nittany Lions closed out its regular season — and as we learned shortly after, their season season — with a thrilling, sometimes ridiculous win over Illinois.
Long plays highlighted the Nittany Lions’ final action of 2020, including a Jahan Dotson catch and run on the very first play of the game and a Lamont Wade to-the-house return.
This season has left its share of unanswered questions. Where would the Nittany Lions have traveled for postseason play? Was opting out the right call? Perhaps most importantly, what do the Nittany Lions need to do during the offseason?
Certain personnel losses are already known. Pat Freiermuth is off to the NFL and the defense will lose some key players, namely All-Big Ten Shaka Toney. Dotson could declare, having already proved himself to be one of the nation’s best receivers.
Fortunately, reinforcements are already on the way. A couple more may be a perfect fit for the Nittany Lions as Penn State should take an active role in the transfer portal this offseason.
