In a year where any team seems capable of losing to any other team with a pulse the AP Top-25 Poll has gone through some radical changes from week to week. This week saw 6 teams ranked in the Top-15 suffer losses, including Duke which lost twice. Multiple teams that re-entered the polls last week lost twice to tumble back out of the rankings, for now.
Penn State got a much-needed win at home against Rutgers on a Myles Dread buzzer-beater on Wednesday. It seems so long ago that the Scarlet Knights themselves were ranked prior to their recent slump. A road-trip to Iowa City resulted in a loss to the Hawkeyes. Unfortunate for what a win would have meant for Penn State in the standings, but ultimately not a blemish on a very strong tournament resume.
The pollsters felt Penn State deserved the No. 20 ranking despite their mixed results this past week. Penn State fans can now look forward to a ranked match-up against No. 16 Michigan State at home on Tuesday night, live on ESPN.
Your No. 20 Nittany Lions are in the Associated Press for the 10th week, tying the 1995-96 team for most weeks as a ranked team! ⚪ #ClimbWithUs pic.twitter.com/PsatXZrC5W
