Apologies for the lack of a recap of PSU’s thrilling overtime win at Penn last weekend, thanks to Mac O’Keefe being Mac O’Keefe (see video above). Like many of you, I’ve also been very caught up with the basketball team’s ups and downs.

Following said OT nail-biter, the second-ranked Nittany Lions will take to the road as they first head down to Charlotte for a date with No. 5 and undefeated Cornell on Sunday, as part of The Crown Lacrosse Classic. The Big Red are led by John Piatelli and Jeff Teat, who both lead the team in total points with 21 each. Piatelli is the goal-scoring ace with 18 of them, while Teat is the one who drops dimes, as 12 assists make up his 21 points. Much like with Penn, expect this one to be a high-scoring up-and-down affair.

The team will then head down to Greenville, South Carolina on Tuesday to take on the Furman Paladins. At 1-4, the Paladins have been trounced in every single one of their losses, and have only reached double digits in goals in one game, which was their lone win of the season against Hampton. Expect O’Keefe, Grant Ament, Jack Kelly, Dylan Foulds, etc. to light up the scoreboard against these guys in what should be a welcome break after facing the Ivy League gauntlet of Yale/Penn/Cornell.

Looking ahead a little bit: The team only plays two more games in March after Tuesday. They will get 11 days off before a home battle with No. 17 Lehigh on March 21st. The following weekend (March 29th), PSU opens up Big Ten play when they host No. 7 Maryland in a Sunday Night clash that will be televised on BTN.
