We continue our series highlighting our wonderful photographer Heather Weikel’s favorite images from the 2019 football season. Give Heather a follow at @hweikelphoto on Twitter to see more of her work.
Back to the White-Out for today’s photo, as we see Lamont Wade punishing Shea Patterson (or rather, the after-effects). Wade has had a colorful career with the Nittany Lions, but 2019 was a showcase of the athletic ability, football IQ, and leadership skills that many were hoping to see following his commitment to Penn State and subsequent arrival from Clairton High.
Wade tied a Big Ten record with three forced fumbles against Ohio State, and had seven tackles against the Wolverines, earning him honorable mention All-Big Ten as a junior. We expect bigger things from Wade when football resumes for Penn State and the rest of the country, but sadly, he will have to find a new Michigan quarterback to terrify (perhaps Dylan McCaffrey?).
Stay safe, everyone.
