The NFL Draft is just a bit over two weeks away as over 200 hundred college football players will realize their dreams of having a shot at playing in the National Football League.
This draft season, several Penn State players will have the opportunity to be drafted, those players are; LB Cam Brown, WR Dan Chisena, TE Nick Bowers, P Blake Gilikin, OL Steven Gonzalez, DE Yetur Gross-Matos, WR KJ Hamler, CB John Reid, S Garrett Taylor, and DT Robert Windsor.
Here are where some of these Nittany Lions are supposed to go according to the following mock drafts.
Joel Klatt’s 2020 NFL Mock Draft 1.0 - Joel Klatt (Fox Sports) - 4/13/20
Klatt’s first mock draft of the draft season is just one round and sees Yetur Gross-Matos end up with the Seattle Seahawks with the 27th overall pick.
Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports created a two round mock draft featuring two Penn State players being selected. First up, is Yetur Gross-Matos with the 25th overall pick, going to the Minnesota Vikings while KJ Hamler goes 57th overall and will be heading to the Los Angeles Rams.
Walter Football Updated Mock Draft (4/7/20)
Walter Football’s most recent mock draft is much like Ryan Wilson’s mock draft and has Gross-Matos ending up with the Minnesota Vikings, most likely in much delight of our resident Vikings fan, Marty Leap. Hamler ends up in Philadelphia with the Eagles, a draft pick I approve of greatly. Robert Windsor goes in the fifth round to the Carolina Panthers at pick No. 148 while John Reid will go to the Pittsburgh Steelers with pick No. 232 in the seventh round.
Easterling’s mock draft is the first one that we see with Gross-Matos falling out of the first round as the Detroit Lions swoop him up early in the second with the 35th overall pick. Hamler goes later in the second round, at pick No. 46 to the Denver Broncos. His final Penn State player selected is Robert Windsor, going to the Chicago Bears in the seventh round at pick No. 233.
We of course have to give love to SB Nation here and Dan Kadar’s most recent mock draft released on Monday. Kadar has Gross-Matos being selected in the first round and going the highest we’ve seen so far, at No. 20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Our last mock draft
The first Nittany Lion off the board is unsurprisingly Gross-Matos, once again falling to the second round to the Detroit Lions. Hamler stays in the second round, which is probably a lock at this point and he’ll be a Dallas Cowboy according to Vinnie Iyer, which surely will make Clay Sauertieg a happy man. We have our first Cam Brown sighting as Iyer has the linebacker going in the fourth round to the Jacksonville Jagurs at pick No. 137. Lastly, the Green Bay Packers grab Wisconsin born Robert Windsor in the sixth round at pick No. 192.
