Penn State’s 2019 season opener was well in-hand, as the Nittany Lions led its first-time opponent Idaho 72-7 with time winding down in the fourth quarter. Despite the commanding lead, Nick Eury took the most of his opportunity to see the field.
The junior running back ran with the determination of someone putting every ounce of effort to reach the end zone on fourth and goal in the national title game. During Penn State’s final drive on this beautiful sunny afternoon, Eury managed 44 yards, bowling over and dragging Idaho defenders on each of his six carries. The final attempt would result in an eight-yard touchdown run, the first of Eury’s career.
Eury would receive a well-deserved hero’s welcome upon his return to the sideline.
