Two different reports saw Penn State add non-conference opponents to its upcoming schedule. First in line is Seton Hall, which has reportedly agreed to a home and home series with the Nittany Lions, starting this upcoming season in State College, and concluding in 2021-22 at Seton Hall. Most recently, Bucknell was reported to be on this season’s non-conference slate.
Interesting to note is that both Penn State and Seton Hall are part of the 2020 Charleston Classic, so we’ll see how that ends up working out when it’s all said and done. Also interesting to note, the Seton Hall game has been reported as the season opener, but it’s not part of the Gavitt Tipoff games.
Surprisingly enough, Penn State holds a 5-1 edge overall against Seton Hall in the six times they’ve played. While the Nittany Lions are well acquainted with Bucknell, having played them 104 times (79-25 record).
This is what the schedule looks like based on what we know so far:
- Seton Hall (season opener)
- Bucknell
- Charleston Classic
- Charleston Classic
- Charleston Classic
- Big Ten/ACC Challenge
- Florida (December 13)
With 7 games accounted for, there are four remaining slots open for the upcoming season.
