Black Lives Matter.

Today and everyday, we at Black Shoe Diaries stand against the seemingly perpetual racial injustice and police brutality against black people in the United States of America.

It is no longer enough to not be racist, we must take a role in fighting these problems by being actively anti-racist.

That doesn’t just mean making a post on social media or speaking with friends about these atrocities. It means doing what you can to amplify voices in black communities, sharing anti-racism resources and content, and to donating to anti-racist causes if you are able.

Black communities should not and cannot be asked to bear this burden alone. Instead, we must help them fight for progress and the justice they deserve.

Sometimes this means taking a step back and listening to black voices. Listen to their stories, listen to their struggles, and listen to them as they instruct you on how you can help.

A better future is possible, but it cannot happen if we sit idly by as these atrocities continue. The time for action is now.
