Only Mike Gesicki Until Penn State Football

For the second straight day, we don’t have a current player rocking a jersey number matching the days until Penn State’s season opener. This time however, we’re only going a few years into the wayback machine to honor the greatest Nittany Lion to wear the No. 88 jersey. I’m talking of course, about Mike Gesicki.

There’s no need to re-hash all the great things Mike accomplished during his PSU playing days, as there’s plenty of YouTube videos like the one embedded above if you need a refresher. He is now entering his third year in the NFL, looking to build off a breakthrough 2019 season where he caught 51 balls for 570 yards and five touchdowns for the Miami Dolphins. With Tua Tagovailoa having been drafted back in April by the ‘Fins, perhaps in the not-so-distant future the Tua-to-Gesicki connection will become a thing.
