While the 2020 college football season looks more and more in doubt, we can at least relish in a bit of positive news today, as Penn State’s athletic department announced that all 178 athletes who have been tested COVID-19 thus far, have come back negative.
It is noted however, that there are an additional 31 athletes whose test results have yet to come back, but the perfect streak remains intact for now. Currently, the football team is in their first week of NCAA mandated Summer practices with the full coaching staff allowed to participate. Hopefully, the next round of coronavirus testing will see the number of positive cases remain at or near zero, and the program won’t be forced to shut down practices like other schools such as Kansas State have done, due to a major spike in cases.
