2022 DEFENSIVE TARGET SETS COMMITMENT DATE
On September 8th, four-star 2022 defensive prospect Ken Talley will announce his college commitment. He will choose from a top 13 that includes Penn State.
TOP 13 I will be making my decision on my grandmother birthday Sept 8th let the countdown begin #GBR #GBO #Weare #BBN #Gigem #Goblue #H2p #ForksUp #Hailwv #Goterps #Thebirthplace #GoGators #Hottytoddy pic.twitter.com/f2meDEjXXP

Talley attends Northeast High School in Philadelphia, where former Penn State defensive end and current defensive graduate assistant Deion Barnes was his defensive coordinator the past two seasons. Two crystal ball predictions have been logged on 247Sports thus far for Talley, and both have been logged in favor of the Nittany Lions.
Talley could play defensive end or outside linebacker at the next level. With the Nittany Lions, he would likely be a SAM linebacker. Regardless, he is a heck of a player and would be a great addition to the quickly growing 2022 class.
TOP GROUPS
Starting with 2021, Penn State is in the top three for cornerback De’Jahn Warren.

Warren attends Lackawanna Community College and is top rated JUCO cornerback in the cycle. Right now, Penn State should be viewed as the heavy favorites for Warren. James Franklin has landed every player he has offered at Lackawanna since coming to Penn State, and the Nittany Lions hold all five 247Sports crystal ball predictions for Warren.
Wide receiver Anthony Ivey, who is one of the top players in Pennsylvania for the 2022 cycle, has released his top three. This group includes the Nittany Lions.

Penn State joins Arizona State and West Virginia in Ivey’s top three. In addition to being one of the best players in Pennsylvania for 2022, he is also ranked as the 4th best wide receiver in the cycle and 103rd best player overall by 247Sports. Right now, Penn State holds the lone 247Sports crystal ball prediction for Ivey. Ivey paired with Kaden Saunders would give Penn State one of the best wide receiver duos in the country for 2022.
NEW OFFERS
Last Wednesday, JaJuan Seider sent out another 2022 running back. This offer was extended to Damari Alston.

The three-star Georgia native is already accumulating an impressive offer sheet. The Nittany Lions join Alabama, Arizona State, Cal, Florida, Florida State, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, and Wisconsin as Power 5 programs to offer Alston since May. With the Nittany Lions likely looking to take two running backs in 2022, the more offers that go out the more likely the staff will be to find a pair of high quality backs for the class.
FOUR-STAR OFFENSIVE LINE TARGET SET TO COMMIT
This Saturday, four-star offensive lineman Rocco Spindler will announce his college decision. Spindler will choose from five schools, one of which is the Nittany Lions.
Tune in August 8th❗️ pic.twitter.com/aCjL8miJ2H

New offensive line coach Phil Trautwein has done a remarkable job of giving the Nittany Lions a legitimate shot at landing Spindler. The Michigan native visited Penn State in February before the recruiting shutdown. This visit put Penn State firmly in Spindler’s recruitment, but it always appeared without another visit Penn State would fail to land Spindler.
It is very possible Penn State is in the top three in Spindler’s recruitment. That said, all signs points toward Spindler choosing either Notre Dame or Michigan on Saturday. Trautwein still deserves a lot of credit for giving Penn State a chance here.
