In an email to season ticket holders, Penn State’s Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Sandy Barbour announced that under the current guidelines set by Pennsylvania, that the 2020 college football season in Beaver Stadium would be held “without fans in the general seating areas of our facilities.”
While the phrasing is a bit vague by nature, it essentially means: unless things change (Barbour did say they could refine their plans, if allowed by the state), there won’t be fans in Beaver Stadium for the 2020 college football season.
Barbour also provided three options for season ticket holders:
1. Convert Your 2020 Football Season Ticket Purchase into a Tax-Deductible Donation
2. Rollover to 2021 Football Season Tickets
3. Request a Full Refund
There’s more information regarding each of those options, which you can read here, but it’s important to note that with the full refund, you are not guaranteed the same seat location in 2021.
