COLLEGE FOOTBALL: OCT 26 Penn State at Michigan State

The first edition of the 2020 Amway Coaches Poll came out Thursday morning and Penn State found itself at No. 7 to start the season.

The Nittany Lions are the second-ranked Big Ten team behind Ohio State at No. 2. They’re joined by Wisconsin at No. 12, Michigan at No. 15, Minnesota at No. 18, and Iowa at No. 23.

Votes were tallied, however, before it was announced that Penn State star linebacker Micah Parsons was expected to skip the season over concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clemson topped the poll, with Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia and LSU rounding out the top five.

Penn State also announced Thursday that fans would not be permitted at any prospective home games due to limits on large gathering in Pennsylvania.
